On March 6, CNOOC Headquarters received the Carbon Neutral Building Certification from the Beijing Green Exchange.

With a total floor area of 96,000 square meters, CNOOC Headquarters has made constant efforts in energy conservation and carbon reduction in its daily management since the building was put into use in June 2006. The measures include an energy-saving lighting model, optimization of refrigeration units and long-term cultivation of a green office culture, among others.

The Beijing Green Exchange certified that CNOOC Headquarters Building has achieved its annual carbon neutral goal based on the Implementation Guidelines for Carbon Neutrality of Enterprises, in terms of the formulation of carbon neutral plan and execution, carbon emission accounting, Beijing carbon quota and CCER offsets, as well as the carbon neutral evaluation and statement.
