| Born in July 1966, Mr. Cao Xinjian is a professor-level senior economist. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Geological Prospecting from China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), a Master’s degree in Business Administration from East China University of Science and Technology, and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from University of Wales. From 1989 to 1999, Mr. Cao served as a geological delegate of the Contract Area of CNOOC Donghai Corporation and Caltex and Deputy Manager of Exploration Department of CNOOC Donghai Corporation. From 1999 to 2004, he served as Exploration Manager of Exploration Department, Assistant Manager, Acting Manager and Manager of Human Resources Department and Acting Director of Party and Masses’ Affairs Department of Shanghai Branch of CNOOC (China) Limited. From 2004 to 2006, he was Deputy Director of the CNOOC Talent Work Leading Group’s Office. From 2006 to 2013, he served as Deputy General Manager, Deputy Party Secretary and Discipline Inspection Secretary of Shanghai Branch of CNOOC (China) Limited. From 2009 to 2013, he also served as Deputy Director and Deputy Party Secretary of Donghai Petroleum Administration Bureau of CNOOC. From 2013 to 2017, he was Deputy General Manager and General Manager of Human Resources Department of CNOOC and CNOOC Limited. From March 2017 to March 2020, he served as Director and Party Secretary of Bohai Petroleum Administration Bureau of CNOOC. From March 2017 to December 2021, he was General Manager and Party Secretary of Tianjin Branch of CNOOC (China) Limited. In August 2017, he was appointed as Executive Vice President of CNOOC Limited. In September 2017, he was appointed as Assistant President of CNOOC. From March 2020 to December 2021, he also served as Secretary of CNOOC Bohai Regional Party Working Committee and Director of CNOOC Bohai Regional Coordination Leading Group. |
