  5 CNOOC Units Fulfill Quotas of 2007 Enterprises Energy Conservation Program
 
   
   
 
 

On August 27, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) released the evaluation results of 2007 Top-1,000 Enterprises Energy Conservation Program, a total of 953 enterprises participating in the program. Five energy consumption affiliates of China National Offshore Oil Corp. (CNOOC) participated in the Program and all of them have fulfilled their targets in the year. Among the five participants, CNOOC Tianye Chemical Limited, CNOOC (China) Ltd.-Shenzhen Branch and CNOOC Fudao Co., Ltd achieved the grade of "Over Fulfillment", while CNOOC (China) Ltd.-Tianjin Branch and China Offshore Oil Fuel Oil Co., Ltd. reached the grade of "Fulfillment."

Among the 953 participating enterprises, 391 reached the grade of "Over Fulfillment", 456 reached the grade of "Fulfillment", 32 reached the grade of "Basic Fulfillment", and 74 were labeled as "Non-Fulfillment."

In 2007, CNOOC (China) Ltd.-Tianjin Branch promoted the natural gas recycling technology and optimized vessel management to reduce oil consumption. Focusing on energy conservation and emission reduction, China Offshore Oil Fuel Oil Co., Ltd. combined technical reforms with the comprehensive suspension overhaul. CNOOC Tianye Chemical Limited strengthened its fundamental management and put in many efforts on energy-saving and technical upgrading projects. CNOOC (China) Ltd.-Shenzhen Branch worked together with foreign partners to promote energy conservation and emission reduction on jointly developed oilfields. CNOOC Fudao Co., Ltd. prolonged the operating cycle of equipments and underwent technical transformation of equipments at the same time.

The government launched the energy-conservation compaign among 1,000 enterprises in 2006. Recently NDRC announced that in 2007 the per-unit GDP energy consumption dropped 3.27%, saving 89.80 million tons of standard coal, with the total emissions of sulphur dioxide and chemical oxygen demand declining by 4.66% and 3.14% respectively.
