Lighted at Olympia Mountain, the “Xiangyun” torch was transferred into Hong Kong on May 2nd  after the torch relay in 21 foreign cities. In the domestic torch relay, 13 CNOOC employees were selected as torch bearers.

The torch bearers are Chen Bi, Vice President of CNOOC Ltd. and General Manager of its Tianjin Branch, Dong Xiaoli, Executive Vice President of CNOOC Oil & Petrochemicals Co., Ltd. and General Manager of Huizhou Refinery Project, Tang Xiangyang and Lin Bawen from China BlueChemical Limited, Yang Jinhai from Zhanjiang Branch of CNOOC (China) Ltd., Yang Yong from "Nanhai II" platform of China Oilfield Services Limited, Chen Yanlin from Property Management Company of CNOOC Nanhai West Corporation, Li Jun from Harbor Engineering Company of CNOOC Energy Technology & Services Limited, Zhong Fei from CNOOC-Shell Petrochemicals Co., Ltd., Wang Conglin from CNOOC Nanhai West Corporation, Li Lili and Hou Gang from Shenzhen Human Resources Services Co. of CNOOC Energy Technology & Services Limited, Lv Yong from Tianjin Chemical Research & Design Institute of CNOOC Energy Technology & Services Limited.

On August 1, Chen Bi and Lv Yong transferred the Olympic flame in Tianjin, while other 11 torch bearers participated in the relay in Hainan, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Huizhou and Shantou from May 6th to 10th.
