On July 3^rd, Offshore Oil Engineering Co., Ltd (COOEC) signed a manufacture contract on a crane of 5,000-ton lifting capacity with Gusto. This was COOEC's first overseas crane manufacture project, marking its entrance into the large-size lifting equipment manufacturing field of offshore engineering industry.

The crane will be constructed in the Tanggu Fabrication Yard of COOEC. The welding of the crane base ring and the rotary platform involves the technology of high-strength special steel welding, which is one of the frontier technologies in international welding industry.

The offshore engineering large-size equipment manufacture market promises great potential. Taking advantage of the favorable environment that the world's large-size equipment manufacturing industry is shifting its focus to Chinese market, COOEC plans to start from this project to master advanced technologies and build up its own technological teams, further enhancing its international comprehensive competitiveness.
